What is App

Standard Apps

These are pre-built by Salesforce and include commonly used functionality, such as Sales, Service, and Marketing apps. They come with standard tabs and features designed to meet general business requirements.

Custom Apps

These are created by users or developers to address specific business needs. Custom apps can include custom objects, fields, and components tailored to a unique workflow or process. You can fully customize these apps by adding or removing tabs, configuring page layouts, and incorporating custom logic with Apex code.

What is Tab

Tabs are navigation elements that allow users to access different objects, records, features, and functionalities within the Salesforce environment. They provide a user-friendly way to interact with various parts of the platform.

Standard Object Tabs

Pre-defined tabs for standard objects like Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, etc.

Custom Object Tabs

Created by users or developers for custom objects specific to their business needs.

Object Tabs

Object Tabs are like shortcuts or buttons you see on the navigation bar that let you quickly access the data in a specific object.

Web Tabs

These tabs point to a web URL or external web page. They allow users to integrate web content directly into Salesforce.

Visualforce Tabs

These are linked to Visualforce pages, enabling custom user interfaces and applications to be embedded directly within Salesforce.

Lightning Component Tabs

These tabs contain Lightning components, allowing custom components to be added as tabs within the Salesforce app.

Lightning Page Tabs

These tabs link to Lightning pages, offering users a way to create custom Lightning pages and integrate them into the app.

What is Object

In Salesforce, an object is a database table that stores specific types of data. Objects are the foundation of Salesforce’s data model, allowing users to store, manage, and manipulate data efficiently.

Salesforce provides two main types of objects:

Standard Objects – Predefined objects provided by Salesforce.
Custom Objects – User-defined objects created based on business needs.

Standard Objects in Salesforce

Account

Stores company or organization details.

What is Fields ?

Each object consists of fields that store different types of data.Field Types in Salesforce:

Text – Stores string values.
Number – Stores numerical values.
Date/Time – Stores date and time values.
Checkbox – Stores true/false values.
Picklist – Stores predefined selectable values.
Formula – Performs calculations based on other fields.

Object Relationships in Salesforce

Relationships are used to connect objects and establish links between their records. Relationships allow you to model complex business scenarios and retrieve data effectively. Salesforce provides different types of relationships that can be created between objects.Objects can be linked to one another using relationships, which define how records in one object relate to records in another.Types of Relationships:

Lookup Relationship – A loose association between two objects.
Master-Detail Relationship – A strong relationship where the child record depends on the parent.
Many-to-Many Relationship – Uses a junction object to connect two objects in a many-to-many model.

What is Record Types

Salesforce Record Types used to categorize and group different sets of records within the same object. They allow you to customize how different groups of records are displayed, managed, and used.Record types can be created on any standard or custom object in Salesforce,It's allowing you to configure:

Page layouts

Show different layouts to different users based on the record type.

Fields

Display specific fields or make certain fields visible only for a particular record type.

Required fields

Define which fields are mandatory for each record type.

Picklist values

Customize the picklist options available for different record types.

Validation Rule

A Validation Rule in Salesforce is a feature that ensures data entered into a record meets specific business requirements or criteria before it can be saved. It uses a formula or expression to evaluate the data and displays an error message if the data does not satisfy the defined conditions.

Validation Rules help enforce data accuracy and integrity.
They prevent users from saving incomplete or incorrect data in Salesforce.
